Madonna accepterer Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award med en stærk tale

Jeg ægte Madonna-mode slog sangerinden ikke ord, da hun slog scenen for at acceptere Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award fredag.

The pop icon gave a fed and powerful talk about some of the things she overcomes, and problems she still deals with. “I stand as a female entertainer,” said she according to billboard.

She continued to become even more honest when she talked about her life experiences as a teenager when she first moved to New York. “It was 1979, and New York was a very scary place. In the first year I was held in arms, raped with a knife digging in my throat and I had my apartment broken in and robbed so many times I stopped with locking door. In the following years, I almost lost every friend, I had AIDS or drugs or shots. “

Musikstjernen said from all the matches she learned: “In life there is no real security except self-confidence.”

Hun fortsatte med fortælling om hvordan hun kiggede op til David Bowie, om hvordan hun følte sig som “den mest hederede person på planeten”, while she was married to Sean Penn and reflected how so many good musicians, who Bowie, er gået væk.

“I think the most controversial I’ve ever done is hold on,” she said. I am one of the lucky ones, and every day I count my blessings. “

She continued and closed her speech with a message about women’s empowerment. “What I would like to say to all women today is this: Women have been so oppressed as long as they believe what men should say about them,” she said. “They mean, they must go back to work. And there are some very good men who are worthy, but not because they are men-because they are worthy.”
