“I went with a friend, so it was pretty low key,” she told recently Med stil.

After studying classical piano for 10 years, the 17-year-old singer from Pittsburgh moved to jazz, learned guitar, ukulele and a little saxophone before she found her radio-clear, synth-driven poplyd with subtle stuff’s R & B and indie . When she is asked to quote her musical influences, she is named only Amy Winehouse. “She had such a talent, as few people seem to have,” she says. We can also think of another.

There is a translation of my birth name, Grace, in hindi.

This has been a crazy year for you in collaboration with The Chainsmokers and playing great music festivals. Var der et klip-selv-øjeblik?
I’ve always wanted to go to Coachella, so it was great for me. I had never been there like a fan, so the fact that I appeared at the main stage was just insane. It was like nothing I have ever experienced before. I also performed at The White House for the annual Easter egg roll and met the president and first lady. Jeg var helt geeking ud.

Hvad kunne de lide?
Super chill og afslappet. Michelle var iført high-tops og leggings! We were dressed the same way.

Fortæller os inspirationen bag din nye single, “Sit Still, Look Pretty.”
It’s a pigen’s stream of how women can do everything men can do and we should not let anyone stand in the way of it. I’ve always grown up with that knowledge, so I want to be sure to forward this message. You should never be sat in a skimmel based on your gender.
