“Although this is not limited to Starbucks, we are committed to being part of the solution,” Johnson said in a press release about why a special training is needed. “På lukke vores butikker til racemæssig træning er kun et skridt i en rejse, der kræver engagement fra alle niveauer i vores virksomhed og partnerskaber i vores lokalsamfund.”

Johnson kept his word, and the effective video he used during Tuesday’s training sessions has been released. I whole eight minutes the segment focuses on systemic bias in public places, and how access to these public places has been historically regulated in this country.

“It’s time we talk about what it means to not be welcomed as a US citizen,” says Sherrilyn Ifill, president and director of NAACP Legal Defense Fund and senior consultant for Starbucks racial bias education in the video.
